Our truest life is when we are in our dreams awake. - Henry D. Thoreau

today will be a dream

So I've been hooked up to this tube,
After first glance my eyes are glued;
When will my wings spread freely?

Fashioned into a network of minds,
Amongst them, there's no life to find;
When will the curtains fall?

With promises of a real safe haven,
People offered up to Satan;
When will eyes finally open?

Voices come from every corner,
Inserted across the glass border;
When will the triggers fire?

Slaying with invisible swords,
Words crafted just to strike the chords;
When will we finally wake?

Coaxed into a sudden death,
Believing Heaven is all that's left;
When will we take control?

It's time to get behind the wheel,
To lose our fears, to break the seal;
Now is all we will know.
